    (I think) This was a way to move the drive to the pivot point of the rear triangle. This was an attempt to avoid chain growth and pedal feedback as the bikes moved through their travel, before more sophisticated suspension designs lead to low-growth axle paths.ascott430 - "Was going to build it up into a fixed gear until I realized I'd rather spend money and time on mountain bikes."

    Tachyons are actually 700d, which is close enough to 650b that the tires are sort of interchangeable
