A setup like this seems suicidal. This person thinks they're being safe because they have a brake for emergencies, but as soon as you jam that in an emergency, their entire body is going to swing to the right, over the front and into the path of whatever caused them to hit the brake in the first place. Kids: there's a reason brakes are designed so you don't have to take your hands off the bars. It's because you need something to counter your body's momentum once the bike itself stops moving. I'd rather ride brakeless than with this kind of setup. Oh wait, I do ride brakeless.MC Chunky Ice in da howse

Even if that lever is there if that person switches their bars a lot, tech 77[bmx brake levers] are good levers to use for that. They are hinged and clamp around the bar. I don't know if those those are still available though. There is no excuse for that set up.

theres a guy i see at least once a week if not daily and always in the afternoon between 2pm and 5pm on huntington or hemingway. its a green pista with chopped risers (terrible description). one time i was riding my friends bike with a huge wald basket and cruiser bars and i looked over and he was right next to me, and think his eye may have been busted up.I’m the paté on the Universal cracker. I’m the grout holding your shower tiles on. I’m out of the saddle, sprinting up that hill and eating glazed donut bracelets off the right arm of Jesus.

it appears to me: the bike is locked freelock style, but then the front wheel is locked to the rack..

so basically if you taco'd the front wheel back and forth again I imagine the rim would be able to be broken and the whole bike (sans front wheel) could be walked away with over your shoulder, no tools need if ya had enough time. ok Maybe a 15mm

as far as the locking job, it looks to me like the lock goes through the wheelaround the rack and then around the frame.. what's wrong with that?Mattia: "I don''t usually watch porn with pickaxe, but when I do it, I make sure to be on the right website"

Blue cannondale with aerospokes is mine...if anyone wants to talk shit about my riding go ahead. Grow some balls ditch the tight pants and race me. I am always down to go. And when I walk my bike its because I am usually with a girl instead of trying to think of new ways to make my bike more hip. My bike is simple and to the point, the aerospokes were a try out after the insurance settlement from an accident. They suck as well, im switiching to the mavic ellipse soon. But seriously all trash talking aside if you see me riding please my all means challenge me i am almost always down to race one on one.

    hey geared,
Don't worry about the aerospokes, the people on here are just cranky because they don't have a set for themselves to use how they believe they NEED to be used. I have an aerospoke and a hed3, and people gave me guff about it for a while (I dont ride both of them, they were on different bikes). Once people figure out that you aren't just a hipster using your bike for fashion, they will stop giving you crap. Well most of them.

I used to work for american apparel back in CO, I wear tight pants and my bike is fancy but, I have also been riding for longer than most of the people I meet and I now work with bikes all day. I think people are starting to realize that I actually do ride my bike and I am getting less guff. Just come to the rides and polo or races so that people can meet you face to face. Come to the monthly sprint night if you want to prove something.

    a) I'll gladly race you, though I suspect you'd win, unless there is climbing involved.

[edit:] I'm not sure what that'll prove anyway? As for your frame, good taste! I used to race on one of those Cannondales, very responsive, excellent geometry but I wonder how it doesn't rattle your teeth out when riding the streets of Boston? I do think the wheels are silly though. Perhaps if my Spinergys weren't tubular I'd rawk 'em, so whatever.[/edit]

    b) More importantly, Did you build a bike up for your crew mate Tom?

a lot of people here give you shit because you don't lock up your wheels. aerospokes = ca$hmoney. keep 'em safe, y0.

Id like to come to the sprints but lately my schedule with practice and classes has kept me from being able to come out. I did build the bike up for tom, though he was stupid and traded some of the expensive parts for cheap bargin bin parts without even knowing. The aerospokes are a bit dumb and i am getting really tired of them...soon to be seen on the ebay near you. And i like hills as well. Anything short of the backside of parker hill ill go with someone. Its kinda scary now knowing how often people see my bike.

i just saw the prettiest conversion in front of the CVS in coolidge corner.. It was a huge frame, recent black paint with a chrome fork. Rocking P35 SKS fenders, sporty brooks saddle and comfort handlebars with old school raleigh style handgrips..

If that is your bike, it is really pretty.
