I'm thinking of putting together a brewery city ride to go from Trillium in Fort Point to Idle Hands in Everett to the new Night Shift location near Metrorock after they finish their move, then maybe back to Boston to hang out at Harpoon or just go to Publick House or Lord Hobo to wrap things up. Maybe in May or June. Interest?

Yeah, I posted something similar a month or two back. Totally down, I have an spreadsheet with locations and a general route somewhere too if you want to give it a peek (although I'd assume it has the old Night Shift location on it)1) Stop watching the donkey porn.

word. I just tracked down your spreadsheet thing. It looks like Slumbrew isn't hosting visitors yet, but Mystic can def go on the list.

The new Night Shift location is supposed to be ginormous, so I'd want to time the ride to check that place out. I'd also be up for adding Sam Adams just to give the ride some decent mileage.

And, damn, Evan I forgot that Aeronaut is opening up right next to Artisan's Asylum and Brooklyn Boulders. Like Tyler St. couldn't get more ridiculously awesome.

So -- maybe ... Sam Adams -> Trillium -> Harpoon -> Idle Hands -> Mystic -> Night Shift -> Aeronaut?

their tasting room opened maybe ... 3 months ago? Tasting pours are wee (like 2 oz), so eminently manageable. And free.

Work is around the corner from the brewery, and we have a beer money basket that people just chuck cash into, so every Friday we just grab the growlers and cash from the basket, and just walk over to Trillium to get however much the cash pays for.

Night shift is okay. I like some of the Slumbrew, most of the Pretty Things. I have never had Trillium (!).

What about CBC? I just had the tall tale pale ale with lunch (okay, 2) but I think that's the only regular CBC beer I like.DFL and DTF :D:D:D:D

My palette is terrible w/ having better/best arguments. Most everything for me is binary: swill or drinkable.

I've done a couple of flights at Night Shift and my thoughts were that most everything was decent except maybe the Rose and Taza Stout, neither of which were really swill, but not anything I'd ever be in a mood to drink. Stout's in particular, I associate with creaminess, and there was none that I remembered in the Night Shift Taza. The Bee Tea was a pleasant surprise.

I do remember paying for the flights, but I also remember that they gave us free tastes of stuff while we were deciding what to pick for our flights.

I've never tried Night Shift, but desperately want to try their Viva Habanero.

I've had my fair share of growlers from Trillium, and despite being somewhat outrageously expensive, their beer is absolutely top notch. Particularly favorites include their Fort Point Pale Ale and the Farmhouse Ale.

CBC has never really impressed me, I dunno why.

Pretty Things is also delicious, and more reasonably priced than Trillium. I almost always have a Jack D'Or bomber hanging out in my fridge somewhere.

Jack's Abby Hoponius Union is good, but I don't really go out of my way to buy it.1) Stop watching the donkey porn.

Jacks Abbey changed my outlook on lagers - they showed me that a lager could be intensely flavorful. For that, they've got a pretty big step up on most beers anywhere.ascott430 - "Was going to build it up into a fixed gear until I realized I'd rather spend money and time on mountain bikes."

Pretty much nothing that isn't harpoon or sam adams makes it out this way.
Jacks Abbey, Night shift, pretty things, jacks abbey, CBC, slumbrew, that one beer with an exclamation point on the bottle that is an awesome and cheap IPA, Cody Brewing, jacks abbey - those are the ones I'm missing the most.

That said the beer scene is kind of amazing out here. You won't go thirsty. Everything is in growlers though, which is kinda weird. But cheaper/more reusable, so thats cool.ascott430 - "Was going to build it up into a fixed gear until I realized I'd rather spend money and time on mountain bikes."

Sours are bomb. And saisons are better than other Belgians, IMHO. Brookline Liquor Mart in Allston used to have a few sours. Also I came home from VT with a sixer of Trout River rainbow red, and it's as sour a beer as I've ever had. I think those folks are slipping. Last ones I got from them exploded.i mean that looks like a 10 cat bag, easy
