Not a freebie, but a great deal:

30 Racks of Old Milwaukee Light or Steel Reserve - $9.99!!
Hurley's liquors @ Warren St and Comm Ave, Allston.

They also have the famous 24 bottles (of something magical, that may or may not have fallen off the back of a truck) for $9.99 deal always...and that's why it's my favorite place to stop for all of my beverage needs.

    "Hurley's, where the dude's dudes shop"(moscow)

I make no promises about movie quality. Only want to point these out.

City Feed and Supply on Boylston in Jamaica Plain makes some of the best sandwiches in Boston, in addition to it being a cool place.

Look in any of the penny saver type of rags in Jamaica Plain (Jamaica Plain Shopper, I think). There's a 2 for 1 sandwich coupon in there. I always keep a couple in my wallet. 2 boss sandwiches for about $6 makes for a good dinner for 2 picnic.
  6.
^ No link. Sorry, you'll have to do a little work for this one.
  7.
Get ready for a big one....

[Some of you probably already know about this, but it was a major revelation to me a few years ago.] The Boston Public Library (and Cambridge, Somerville, etc.) loans out day passes to just about any cultural institution you can possibly think of. Check them out just like a book. Completely FREE. No catch. Just another reason why public libraries are my favorite institution around.

I know they have free passes to the Museum of Science, the Aquarium, Peabody Essex Museum, and the like.

Also, remember free Thursday nights at the ICA.

The beauty of going to museums for free is being able to go for an hour without feeling like you're not getting your money's worth.

    Live it up!

    MORE FREEBIES....

I have many fond memories of gallery openings. Let's see there was the time I finished a five day climbing trip in the Tetons and got kicked out of a gallery in Jackson, WY for eating too many hors d'ouevres. The Park City time that I fell down the stairs in a gallery, but managed to not break any art or bones...

First Fridays in the South End (didn't want to bring myself to say SOWA); Details below(it's art speak and translates to "free beer")

    First Fridays!

First Fridays are an integral part of the SOWA Artists Guild mission. The aim is to give visitors access to the artists in their element – to offer a different and more personal way to experience art firsthand. By opening their working space to the public, the SOWA Artists Guild hopes to give people an avenue for viewing quality contemporary art that complements yet goes beyond the gallery experience.

First Fridays appeal to a wide range of art enthusiasts, from seasoned collectors to first time art buyers to those who have never considered art before. Through its participation in these popular events – and by establishing itself as a presence in the SOWA artistic community – the SOWA Artists Guild strives to make its art and its artists accessible to all, working together to inspire people to appreciate art on a whole new level.

The other one is First Thursdays in Jamaica Plain. Not so much food and drink at these, but a good time still.

first fridays are a total shit show, everyone is there to get drunk off of free (cheap) wine... thats what galleries are for in my professional opinion (as a painter). i havent been in months due to my inability to cope with large crowds, unless i am drunk (i normally make it there when the wine has stopped flowing).

i think my room mate used to work at city feed, id ask him, but he's snoring.

I'm pointing people to free food and wine. I make no guarantees as to the ambience.

I've got a pdf for free tickets to Margot at the Wedding (title sounds femme, but it's got Jack Black). Whisper me in the next short while and I can email it to you. Would be ideal if somebody could make a link for it so people can print it.

Movie is tonight(Monday), 7PM at Boston Common Theatre. The last few have had a guest list, but this one supposedly does not have a guest list.

You'll get an Admit Two. It's always for one sneak preview or special engagement, so yes it's just one time/date. Just give it to somebody else if you can't go, though. Takes 30 seconds to fill out the online form.

If you have not heard of these guys, they are from Manchester, NH and are awesome. They are similar to Stomp and Blueman group. But use more household items and really rock. It is going to be awesome! check them out on youtube or facebook (if you do that thing)boooyah

    ALERT:

Shiiiiiit. Just walked my ass to Boloco to find that the free burritos have been rescheduled to the 20th. I tried sweet talking the manager, but no luck.

Is my frustration considered entitlement seeing as I have had 20 free burritos this winter and will still be getting multiple bolocos on the 20th?
