When I moved out here I was all stoked on the legendary Hardcore scene out here, only to find that it had been contaminated by sally-assed shit like Cuttle Core, Fashion Core, Math Core, and the like.

    So, I missed out.
I'm trying to discover the best of Boston's former Hardcore days, and need your help.
    Guide my ears please.

    Oh yeah, fuck y'all!

Dude, proper Boston hardcore in died in the late 1980's.

    STP
    Eye for an Eye
    Crossface
    Slapshot
    SSD
    D.Y.S.
    Converge
    Nevertheless
    The Eels
    Chilmark
Outburst (might have been NYC band)
    Daltonic
Wrecking Crew (Epic boston band! How has no one mentioned them yet!)
    Silence (CT, but close enough)

and of course, the This is Boston not LA comp everyone has mentioned.

Also, listen to the Late Riser's Club (mon - fri 10am - 12pm) on 88.1. Espeically tune in on Thursdays. Joanie, the thursday host, has been around the Boston rock scene for 25+ years and knows more about music than anyone on the planet. She often plays a lot of the older boston hardcore 7" that you wont find in any store. All you white kids look alike when you're still covered in baby fat, so I was getting bored with the non-stop WASP parade.
