Threads like this bum me out.
It was so awesome in like 2001 and it was just a steady downward spiral from there.
We used to have to to pick which shows we were going to hit on a given night and now you're lucky to find half a dozen good shows throughout a year.

I have 2 boxes of records and cds and t-shirts of previous bands merch in my basement.
    Totally depressing.

    The dedication were awesome.

I'm getting ready to sell my head and some guitar stuff on ebay.
I don't want to, but shit is just so run down.
I always swore I wouldn't be one of those jaded older dudes, but I really believe that it's the scene and not just me.e-f-f-e-c-t a smooth operater operating correctly

Naw, those are just for hauling some sharpies for X-ing up your hands and throwin' down your "phat" tags in the bathroom at Buddha's Delight. If you packin' REAL heavy you might also have some P.E.T.A. fliers, and E.P.M.D. album on cassette, and some mace for all the poser sXe kids who pop into the Earth Crisis show. ;)All you white kids look alike when you're still covered in baby fat, so I was getting bored with the non-stop WASP parade.

Wow, quotes like that make me feel so "Older Budweiser". Saw an old friend this weekend and started talking about all the shows we'd been to.

Black Flag, Circle Jerks at the Channel. Minor Threat at the VFW hall in Cambridge. Saw the DK's in some random gym in Waltham or Watertown. Remember thinking how surreal it was to see them in a hall with old wooden roll-out stands and basketball hoops pulled back in the burbs.

Found the flyer for what was one of my first shows - classic

My friend mentioned having BF covering the Banana Splits theme song on a 45. Anybody heard that one? Too funny. Those were the days, skate Turtles in Brighton all day then hit up a show at some random location. Thank goodness for inattentive parents. We are the small axe.

not to open up a can of worms, but i finally got around to actually listening to Cave In's Jupiter recently, and y'know what?

i motherfucking love it. i've heard nothing but hate rants for this album, but i really, really like it. i was rather surprised.

josh, look up deathwish records and bridge nine records. that's a pretty good starting point to get into this sorta stuff. not all the bands are boston bands, especially with deathwish, but its a point in the right direction. also, sorry i lost you on saturday. i was really hoping i could talk to you more about this here woman you fancy. shit is crazy, my damie.flip mode. flip mode is the greatest.

Deathwish put out some cool records, but you didn't miss a thing by not working in that building. Not an awesome business partner.

That place was dope unless it was hot out then. Then that freak-ass surface turned to mush. Also have to mention Metals and the Black Hole down by Boston City Hospital. I thought I was one of the oldest old-school rockers on here, but looks like you got me beat by a few years. ;)All you white kids look alike when you're still covered in baby fat, so I was getting bored with the non-stop WASP parade.

that is true for the most part i guess, but i'm not bad news! we're not all MOSHZILLA!

and although i mostly agree with you about hxc ladies(i've met more bitches than i care to have in my hardcore days), i've also met a plethora of bad news hardcore boys that outweigh the girls significantly.

Hey, someone forwarded me this way from bikeforums.net, and I've lurked a few times while I was waiting to get my bike back on the road before I started posting, but references to The Freeze (fav!) and The Limit? I can't resist. "Options" by The Proletariat is such a good song. Did anyone mention Last Rights?

@# LHtrustme X: BFB was my first show too, with Reach the Sky and.. the Vigilantes? at the Karma. I don't think I was ever as scared as I was that night when there was a FSU dude with a cast on swinging it around like a mace. Craze.

@Robotbuilder: I got a lot of music online your welcome to steal, (and other too), just don't spread the link around too much. If you haven't got it yet, here's Boston Not LA: http://mattfarmer.net/backup/Music/Compilations/This%20Is%20Boston,%20Not%20LA/

@deadboltFTW!: I'll be at that Slapshot show for sure. Has it really been since '05 that they last played?

I finally got build up my surly hubs/velocity fusion wheels and got a new carbon fork for my langster, so I'll post pics of that tomorrow after I take them for a spin.
