aight so we have a ebay/cl, for sale/trade, and WTB thread so I figure a "Where can I buy "xzy" locally" might be helpful

if I want a miche cog system with 17t and 18t cogs anyone know which shop would be best?
  1.
no ideas about the cogs, but I can attest that you can get dimension double straps for $30 flat if your a student from the EMS in haaaavard sq.

you can also get knogs for $9

Any shop can get you the cog, generally within a week if they're available. I'd tell ya to call around and see what price they can quote ya at for it.clockwork ted: this is my favorite thread. sweet BJ alexi!

^^^i have a Swobo. although the top of my head stays relatively warm(not toasty by any means), i've found that the ear-flaps are just not long enough.
a month or so ago though i saw Clarence's Rapha cap had really nice long ear-flaps and it looked even better than my Swobo. plus warmer. i suggest looking around and seeing if you can find one of those.Mattia: "I don''t usually watch porn with pickaxe, but when I do it, I make sure to be on the right website"

specialized sub zeros = the jam for gloves. usually 50 but you can find last year's for 35 sometimes.Think you're escaping and run into yourself. Longest way round is the shortest way home.

this is true, projected for mid-late january for the east coast. not too excited about that.

fortunately, i already have a pair from last year. i rode my mtb with them this morning, though on the road i still would have had frozen digits. i'm considering the craft or pearl lobster glove for cold road riding.

use mittens (windproof/waterproof ski/snowboarding mittens, in particular). they do a much better job than most gloves at protecting the fingers while out on the road in the cold for long periods of time.

it's the naked bodies in the sleeping bag principle... multiple bodies together keep each other warmer than one body per sleeping bag.

so think of it as group-sex for your fingers. without the anal-beads.~(..,)~ (oYo) make whoopee not war (oYo) ~(..,)~

Thought it'd be a good idea to bring this thread back, since it seems like we keep getting a bunch of topics along the lines of the OP.

Anyways... shameless plug, but also figured it might help some folks. IBC in Boston (where I work) has a bunch of old diadora and nike cycling shoes on wicked cheap closeout. Sizes are spotty, but let me know what ya need and I'd be happy to check since I'm @ IBC all day. Otherwise SWING BY AND VISIT.... srsly.... it's nice seeing folks.clockwork ted: this is my favorite thread. sweet BJ alexi!

I can make you a cycling cap with fleece ear flaps if you'd like.... I started making cycling caps a few months ago, still tuning up my skills in the craft, but I made a couple for my brothers for xmas out of an old blazer and some old fabric I had.
