As tasty as some of them are (my favorite are the peanut butter sandwich ones that everyone hates), there's too much crap in them (e.g. HFCS).Ella: Not that I would EVER even THINK of taking the T (mainly because my penis is too large to fit in it)

There are also much bigger reasons to not buy Girl Scout Cookies, but I don't want to kill anyone's cookie buzz. I say bake up a batch of immensely superior homemade cookies and then donate whatever you would spend on GS cookies to your local troop. Not only will your body thank you but the Girl Scouts will benefit much more from your direct donation.

my family gave up on girl scouts when my mom found out the troop gets $0.10 of every box bought. i single-handedly caused the collapse of troop 545. although my leaders were too pansy-assed to camp anywhere other than the penthouse room of our local holiday inn, so it was no real loss.

thanks for posting that recipe, kirsten. carmel de-lites are my favorite, i'm going to try making my own caramel and then make those for our upcoming vegan potluck.

in other words, karl - be jealous. :)

The Girls of Scouting usually stand outside at Park Street (T) station and sell them.
Maybe they get school credit for an economics class? Do they get a license for that?
Or it's just before and after school.

    Thin mints.
Trader Joe's peppermint candy cane cookies are done for the season, and I gotta have the mint/chocolate combo.
And the Unibroue Vintage Ale (750ml 9%abv $5) is done too.
