every year i like to do the top 5 albums of the year with my friends. ideally i'd like to see everyone post on the forum that i run specifically for this purpose, so feel free...

top 5/2007what does he commute to clowntown on that thing
do re-issues count? You're purposefully attempting to sabotage my degree project. Thanks.
    • CommentTimeDec 12th 2007
here's the rules i go by, typically:

    1) no eps, no reissues, no advances
    2) blurbs are nice
    3) ranking is optional

additional categories if you so choose:
    - top 5 EPs
    - top 5 disappointments
    - top 5 most brutal songs (this might be just for me)what does he commute to clowntown on that thing

    Night Ripper was 2006

Similarly, I didnt get much "new' music this year
    Of what I did get,

Between the Buried and Me -Colors
Maylene and the Sons of Disaster -II
Dethklok -The Dethalbum (strangely, it debuted #21 on billboard making it the highest ranked metal album ever.

I suppose Radiohead's In Rainbows was pretty decent too. Although I wouldn't put it on MY top 5

Common - Finding Forever - It's really awesome to see Common get the commercial success he deserves without losing his style.

Talib Kweli - Ear Drum - One of the best MCs in the game dropping on of his best albums to date.

Saul William in collaboration with Trent Reznor -The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust! - Trent is a amazing producer and Saul Williams is unlike anything else, this is a very interesting collaboration. (album available legally and free via

Lily Allen - Alright Still - she really can do no wrong in my opinion

    Justice - Cross - DO THE D.A.N.C.E!!!!!!!

and honorable mentions go to Kanye, Ghostface, Blu & Exile, Jigga Man, UGK, and if he had put out an album of his own Lil Wayne (tons of classic appearances but no album) ...
    • CommentTimeDec 12th 2007
