why? he gives us a key to the basement and we get to use the laundry. if we don't give him the money, we don't get the key.

anyway, our landlord's name is bolla and he's great. the neighbors downstairs are in their 60s and don't speak much english. they have a dog named pinto and have lived here for a long time. You're purposefully attempting to sabotage my degree project. Thanks.

    D'awwwww...
surprisefries:I didn't say Joe and Shah aren't awesome. Just that they are smelly. I mean, Joe only consumes meat, tequila and cigarettes. I would totally live there if I didn't have a family in Somerville.

    YOU GUYS.

Nuggetross:i've heard they also let guests bone in the bathroom whenever they want.

It's not a slow house party unless Dave's crying in the shower at the end of it.

Looking for something ideally in Cambridge or Somerville for Jan 1. Could pay up to $700 but would prefer closer to $630. Got a couple bikes I'd want to keep in my room. I'm quiet at home and don't smoke or do drugs. Don't care about pets, and I'm a stickler for being on time so my rent is always early.I have DTF pants. They're crotchless. -surprisefries

I'm moving back to MN. So my roommate needs someone to take over my room.

-Available Feb 1st (kick of Black History month with a new pad)
-Just outside of Oak Square, about 3 blocks from the river.
-$675 plus utilities (around $100 a month if you want cable)
    -2 Bedrooms (big ass bedrooms)
-Kitchen, living room, dining room (all huge)
-Office (in a 4 season porch type area, windows on 3 sides, totally sick)
-Porch over looking backyard, with a fucking GRILL
    -Basement with FREE FUCKING LAUNDRY
-Free street parking, no snow emergencies, no street sweeping. Park your shit when you want, where you want.
-Landlords live upstairs. Old, and totally awesome. Make noise, they don't care.
-Current remaining roommate is kick-ass: 34, works at WGBH, plays a mean blues guitar, has a single cat that stays in his room

Picks available, tours as well. Let me know!Except our own thoughts, there is nothing absolutely in our power.

Cool, I hope you find a good roommate, but wtf something is terribly wrong when 1/3 of an apartment is $900 every month. Where I grew up a 2 bedroom was $400 total. This stuff just makes me dream about moving to western Mass some day..."life is hard, cats are soft." - surprisefries

The apartment is literally 30 seconds away from the train, and being that close to the T definitely jacks up the price. Other apartments nearby have about the same rent (according to CL). Also, it does seem like rent is going up everywhere unfortunately.

A friend of mine is trying to sublet her room in a 4 bedroom in Ball Sq since she just got a job offer and is moving to Portland, Oregon. It's $700/month, ~$50 in utilities/month and is spacious with great roommates. Ideally May 1st move-in but could also do mid-May or June 1st. Lease is until August 31st with option to renew the lease. Let me know if you're interested and I'll pass her email along.

I guess I should post now to throw this out there. I'm looking to move out of my place for September. Heating and insulation is kind of a pain. I would prefer to stay in Somerville. I'm 30 and work full-time as a paramedic with a rotating schedule, so you probably won't see my for a day or two at a time. This is just a brief about me.

    hey guys,
Im looking for a new place come September. Im aiming to get a place with just one other person in the Jamaica Plain area, id also consider east cambridge/central. Idealy i'd want to find a new place with someone else rather than move into an existing place, but I'm open. I can do up to $900 a person. I also have 2 cats and 5 bikes. Whisper me if you're interested or know someone who might be!
thanks!'Cause i always say i love you when i mean turn out the lights.

My current, awesome roommate Casey and I are looking for a new place for Sept. Do you or someone know have two places available? We can do <700 per month plus utilities. Heat included a must/plus.

Or, anyone wanna be a +1 for us? 3beds are waaaayyy cheaper than 2beds.Naaaah, too uncool for the #messlyfe. I just like to hang out in loading docks and pretend to talk on my radio so that people will like me. - Mfratt

I'm still potentially looking for a roommate for my current place, but, Ashley Magnus and I are also talking about possibly finding a place together with a couple other people. If you don't know Ashley, she is a nice biker person who likes photography and baking, among other things. If you don't know me, I am also a biking person, and some things I like are music and cats (I have two). We'd want a friendly, semi-communal household in JP or Camberville, under 700 per person.

I'm moving from my apartment at the end of June, and we thought the woman who lived in our apartment before us was going to move back in, but she got cold feet. Anyway, I like my landlady and love living here, so I thought I'd at least post something...

The info: $1400 (available 7/1). Oxford Street, Somerville... 2BR/1BA, smallish but not tiny kitchen, pantry, dining room with charming details, living room, small office/study space off of LR (we use the study as a nursery, I've measured it and it's about 5 x 8). Has fairly private back porch (apartment is on the 2nd floor). Storage in dry basement. Back yard. Gas stove, gas heat. W/D in basement (the W/D is hooked up to this apartment's utilities, traditionally we've shared them with two of our three neighbors - one gives us $, the other we trade wireless internet for W/D).

No lease, just a rental application. Oh, and it's most of the way to being deleaded if you have kids or are thinking about having them (inside is deleaded, they're in the process of finishing remediation outside of the unit).

Downsides: Bedrooms are on the small side; Lacks for closet space (one small closet in each BR, one large but weird closet off hall); Onstreet parking only (Somerville is all permit). Kitchen has essentially no counter space (we bought an IKEA cabinet thing with a counter on the top which has worked out just fine, we cook).

Upsides: Ted lives around the corner & 'nop is a few blocks away (you will see people on this forum in the neighborhood). Nice wood floors, charming details abound. Awesome, generally very quiet street. Really nice location in general, walk to Market Basket, Union Square, wherever. Landlady is pretty hands-off but responsive. We've lived here awhile (initially in the apartment below for 5 or 6 months, and then in this apartment for about 3 years) and have really loved it. Perfect location for dominating Tag 'n' Brag. Cats are probably a-ok/my downstairs neighbor has a good-sized dog, so I wouldn't say canines are out of the question - would need to talk to landlady about such things. Newish windows in almost every room (back bedroom has older replacement windows). Utilities have been quite reasonable.

Whisper me if you're interested. Looking for someone reliable that'll treat our awesome landlady well!
