Anyone on here a Drum & Bass fan? Black Sun Empire is playing at Elements (Phoenix Landing) Dec 12. I'm taking work off that night to go. As the name would imply, this is going to be one hell of a dark, brutal, apocalyptic, war-zone set. I'm sorry, but black metal has nothing on dark DnB. Can't wait. All you white kids look alike when you're still covered in baby fat, so I was getting bored with the non-stop WASP parade.

I just got hired for the title role in Der Kaiser von Atlantis:

    http://ctlyricopera.org/2013/09/jan-25-26-feb-2-2014-ullmann-der-kaiser-von-atlantis-the-emperor-of-atlantis

It was written in the concentration camp at Terezin, and I'm basically playing Hitler. As a Jew, this is pretty heavy stuff.

Those of you who came to my Beethoven's 9th know that this is going to be face-meltingly awesome. Even more so in this case, because, you know, Nazis:

I just got a phone call telling me that I'm a finalist in the Peter Elvins Vocal Competition, and I'll be singing Che gelida manina (from La Boheme) in a free public performance tonight at 7:30pm at the First Church at 404 Concord Ave in Belmont.

If you've got no plans for this evening, come cheer me on! It's an easy and lovely bike ride from Allston or Camberville.::lols at Dan's great photoshopping job:: ::slowly stops laughing:: ::googles:: ::kills self:: -tinyhonkshus

After 3+ years I now have Thursday nights off from work again (now off Wed & Thurs). Main reason for this switch was so that I could start going back to Elements at the Phoenix Landing on Thursday nights. For those who may not know, the Elements is now one of the longest running Drum & Bass / Jungle nights IN THE WORLD (15+ years!). If any of you hipsters think your all cool with your little dubsteppings, come hear where it actually came from/evolved out of, and what the more brutal/punk version of it actually sounds like. Not for the faint of heart. Anyway, I'm going tomorrow night (5/15). The Upbeats from New Zealand are playing. They are kind of a big deal. Anyway, if your out and about, swing by.
