donating blood is always a way to make a quick buck...

    320 washington st. in brighton.

they pay $25 for your first visit (3 vials of test blood), then $50 per pint after that.
test takes about 24 business hours, you can go in anytime after that, and you have to wait about 8 weeks between donating full pints.

    call 617-782-0096 to schedule appointments.

    Do you work/study at MIT?

I went today for my first fMRI scan for an hour. Made $40 which is nice. But in the waiting room I picked up the MIT internal neurological publication talking about people working on different things at the school and someone featured in it looked surprisingly a lot like you, judging by the pics you've posted given the fact that i've yet to meet you.

One of my co workers up and quit (really screwed us over). So my hiring manager is beside herself frantically trying to find a replacement. She asked me today if I knew anyone that was looking for work and unfortunatley none of my friends are the recommending type. Basically the job is a customer service/dispatch assistant for a corrier company. You have to be really customer service oriented and and not mind working with a bunch of abrasive blue collar dispatchers. pay is 10/hr but goes up after your probationary period...whisper me and ill give you the details. Im kind of putting my word on the line so please be legit with working/showing up on time.

want to make some money on the side? become a chacha guide! it's easy, and it can pay up to $15-20 an hour in your free time for searching on google answering questions people text in. it's super easy, and you log in/out when you want.

plus if you sign up, and use me as a referral, i make more!

http://becomeaguide.chacha.com/, and please put jacobs@bbma.org as your referral.

the "training" kind of sucks (you have to watch a bunch of videos, then answer 10-20 "fake" questions, which they grade a few of and then you get accepted/denied), but it only takes a few hours. it seems really hard to not get accepted or get fired.

you can get a debit card from them, but it costs $2 a transaction to transfer money to it. the other option is a monthly transfer to your bank account, which has no fee. i do that. if you sign up, you can then get other people to sign up under you, and you get 10%ish of whatever they make (not out of their pocket, on top of). it's a much better way to make money than answering questions.

so, i have to sign a contract saying that i waive my rights to employment income, am an independant contractor for which, i cannot claim this income included with any of my unemployment benefits, and also sign a service agreement of no less than one year to which i provide the service at their convenience? did you check off every work hour and do they tell you when your 'shift' is? these are my primary concerns with employment at what is otherwise a funny little cell phone trick company.

they are just making sure you don't sue them for misclasifying you as an independent contractor. there are no "shifts", sign in and out when you want. sometimes its busy, sometimes it isn't. if it gets really busy, they email everyone asking people to log in. i think i hcecked that i'm available all the time, but i don't remember. i do know that i am testing the limits of what you can get away with, and as far as i can tell it is near impossible to get fired.

someone just asked me how many hamsters it would take to power his house. i answered that i have alerted the humae society, and they are on their way for his crimes against the hamster population.

note: when you take the 10-20 question "test" after all the videos, one thing to know that they don't really tell you unless you read a bunch of other stuff is you can't use any answers/wiki sites as a source. so no yahoo answers, answer.com or wikipedia.

question: is it worth messengering only part time? I'm planning on taking a classes over the summer, one per each summer session (morning classes). im fine with working long days/late hours, and i've been done the whole messenger thing before, im just wondering how slow the summers are in boston, and what kinda work i'd be missing out on before noon. (ideally getting in some work in before class, taking a 2-4 hr break, depending on the session, then continuing work)

edit: change of plans, now it would be only one class during first session: only a 2 hr break mon-thursday, and all of friday for work. so.. perhaps this helps.
  10.
i can't see that paying well at all. You're purposefully attempting to sabotage my degree project. Thanks.

    Anyone need a job?

Know your way around a bike, have some past mechanical experience? Then check this out.

Mechanic needed to work 25- 30 hours a week, some weeks more, and some weeks less. As the mechanic is not dealing with customers flex time is not a problem as long as the work gets done in a timely manner. Pay starts at $10 an hour, after a moth it goes up to $12. If this individual works out, they can expect a trip to the Netherlands and Denmark to get trained at the various factories. A pretty nice perk as they will be staying in Copenhagen, Dieren and Amsterdam!

The person needs to be mature, creative, able to work outside the box and with others. He/she also must either be in college or have a college degree.

I'm working with the HR peeps in my company a lot these days and even when we don't need the person to have a degree, we almost always require it. It at least shows you can start and finish something(college).

Same things goes for people who have switched jobs every six months. It looks horrible to employers. Usually means you have no commitment and either quit whenever you have a bad week or get fired for doing dumb shit.

The absolute worst is people who list the six schools they went to for undergrad but then have no degree. You'd be amazed how many of these we see.I'm going to eat your brain and gain your knowledge
