I have the whole day off tomorrow and want to take advantage and soak up some rays, bro. I'll be going to Nahant. It's a great place to ride around and be near the water away from it all. The one caveat is that there's no non-resident parking allowed on Nahant, so it's begging to be ridden. However, route 1 sucks butt, so I'll be taking the Newbury/Rockport line to Lynn. From there it's a nice ride out and there's a shop that sells beer/wine/snacks.
Of course, if anyone has a car with rack you can always drive up to Lynn and park then ride over. Any interest? Come as you are, I'll be going solo or en masse.
    jealous, i love it there
(ps, i've always taken the blue line to wonderland and just ridden revere beach blvd to 1a and over)somebody turn the lights off on this place already.

Er, why take the train at all? You could go to Sullivan Sq and take 99 through to B'way in Everett, right on Lynn St... and then you can take 60 to 107 (upside, more direct, downside busier roads) to Summer St... which will take you over to Neptune Blvd (you can come out on 1A at the Lynn Ctr turn-off, ie past the bad parts of the Lynnway) or alternatively stay on Lynn St, which becomes Salem St... right at the rotary in Saugus Ctr onto Lincoln... then Summer St et cetera as described above (upside of Lynn St, lower traffic roads, downside more meandering).

Thinking I'll ride out to Carlisle (or maybe Littleton) and back via Concord tomorrow, leaving... 10ish from Somerville?

I've barely been on a bike in the last month, so I imagine I won't be blazingly fast or anything (I did finally get the kid trailer the other day, so I'll finally get to start riding again... no kid tomorrow though, we haven't gotten beyond Teale yet).

Planning a ride with Brian Sokol for tomorrow. Gonna be riding to Russo and Sons fresh/organic market out past Watertown. It's only like 8.22 miles so if you don't mind some (shitty) weather, then you should come get some cheap good groceries with us!

Bumping some of the useful threads. I am hoping to go drag the baby around in a little while, but it probably isn't the kind of thing people would want to join me for.
Considering going for a ride either in 15 minutes or early in the AM if any one is interested.

Posted on the Social Wednesday Facebook, but I'll put it up here as well:

The gist of it is this:

I'm riding with Brian Sokol down the Minute Man trail on Sunday (the 2nd). In order to skip out on the rain, we're congregating and leaving between 9:30 and 10 in the park out front of Toscanini's in Central Squizzare. Last time we did this, we booked it down the trail to the end, shot the shit, and then hiked back again and it was a damn fine ride (albeit bumpy at times).

Plus it's going to be relatively nice if the Weather Channel doesn't fuck me over.

Who wants to go on the Jingle Ride leaving from 594 Mass Ave in Arlington today at 11am? No costume required, but I'm bringing a Santa hat. -- Craig posted on Rides/Events/Calendars a few days ago. They ask that you RSVP through the online form, which is simple, but I doubt anyone will care if you don't.

    Mmm salty...

Roads were ok, all bare pavement, some wet. Bike path was blocked between fresh pond & Belmont but after that was great. I did get a flat on Smith/Spring between concord & Trapelo but not for any apparent reason. Great day for a ride, quite warm with very light winds. Did not see any other riders :/I am the reason your son is crying.
Totally envious. I was sitting/standing around in a suit all day.

I want to go for a ride today between 1-4 pm. med-slow to medium speed. 1-2.5 hr ride. 420 break and a beer too? Would be leaving from upper Allston.

I dont know quite where is good to ride, though I will say chestnut hill is pleasant. would anyone recommend a good ride/like to ride with me who knows a good route?
Larz Anderson park in Brookline is usually pretty pleasant, you could go down to Brookline Village, take Pond Ave to Jamaica Pond, then climb Cottage/Goddard St to the park. Might be a little narrow on Goddard though.

I propose the Easter-Candy-Eating Ride (calorically neutral).

Meet at the little park in front of Toscanini's on Main St. in Cambridge at noon. We ride wherever. Maybe Walden Pond, to people-watch the churchgoers strolling in their Sunday best?

Extra points for bunny, Jesus, or Moses outfits.::lols at Dan's great photoshopping job:: ::slowly stops laughing:: ::googles:: ::kills self:: -tinyhonkshus
