Causeway St / Boston Garden. I was tempted to follow this with the Ted Williams statue at Fenway Park to keep the"theme" going, but that would have been too far out of my ride home from work.

For being a socialist someone's awfully obsessed with Copley Place. On second thought, maybe that does make sense?

I work very close to there, and wanted to get an indoor pic, and the walkways provide for fun perspectives. I was originally going to tag the waterfall (tires in water), but there was a security guard there and thought, "this lady totally ain't going to be down with BFG shanagans." Hence, I just had to wing it. Next was going to be my bike in front of the cycling section in Barnes & Nobles. They were closed. I was just left with a cheap Louis V. tag. Oh, well. I've got Craig's most recent tag on lockdown (i.e. I know where it is), only question is when I can make it over there?

Funny, I thought I had an idea on where it was, nixed that one, and then suddenly I remembered where I'd seen something similar. Sure enough...

If you're drunk enough you can't tell the difference between Mordechai and Haman, but you still get the tag anyway... an additional point?

Downside of that tag and nighttime... you might run over a homeless person sleeping on the b'walk under the bridge. I hear they don't appreciate that.

I know where that one is, it's pretty prominent (not actually an occupied house in terms of someone living there) and does fall on the approved list of neighborhoods.

Thought I'd add the same note I added above, the parking lot behind the black fence on the right side of my most recent tag was once the site of the Cocoanut Grove nightclub.

    Bay Village, Boston's smallest neighborhood.

Oddly enough Wikipedia claims Bay Village is Boston's second smallest officially recognized neighborhood. Not sure what the smallest is? Maybe Chinatown's official boundaries are smaller than a person would think? Or... the Leather District?

ETA: definitely not Chinatown, I'm going to stick with the Leather District as my guess for smallest.
  28.
However the "Boston neighborhoods" page (this one) says that Bay Village is the smallest.Naaaah, too uncool for the #messlyfe. I just like to hang out in loading docks and pretend to talk on my radio so that people will like me. - Mfratt

Tim, I was going to tag coconut grove at some point. Jacques, that draw queen/tranny, and occasional punk bar (i once saw Dropdead there) in bay village was a temporary morgue for that when it went down. ^^ Huh... we may never know! There's some kind of Bay Village homeowners association that also quotes the 2nd smallest figure, but it looked like they cribbed from Wikipedia, or vice versa (but I suspect the former).

Not really sure whether I should go snag that tag tomorrow morning, kinda thinking I should give it a day. I figure enough people have rode right by Eric's tag, maybe one of them will snag it? Good to keep momentum going, but no fun if I hog all the points for myself.

^ I didn't know that about Jacques, fas-kinating! Went to a few odd basement shows there over the years. Best one might've been a Massart student film fest, the queens/trannies heckling the movies really added something special. For whatever reason Jacques was one of two places that cab customers would always say the name of the street when it was insanely obvious where they were headed (Manray being the other).

Cheez:...the parking lot behind the black fence on the right side of my most recent tag was once the site of the Cocoanut Grove nightclub.

    Whoa. Hold up one sec. I've known about the fire for a long time. During all of high school and college I worked at the skateboard shop on Charles St. South & Tremont (e.g. in the bay village). HOWEVER, I did not realize that Cocoanut was the WORST NIGHT CLUBE FIRE IN U.S. HISTORY, and the second-worst single-building fire in American history. That is some fucked up shit. The entire wiki page is a fascinating read, but this part is soooo easy to visualize;

"Official reports state that the fire started at about 10:15 p.m. in the dark, intimate Melody Lounge downstairs. A young pianist and singer, Goody Goodelle, was performing on a revolving stage, surrounded by artificial palm trees. It was believed that a young man, possibly a soldier, had removed a light bulb in order to give himself privacy while kissing his date.[1] Stanley Tomaszewski—a 16-year-old busboy—was instructed to put the light back on by retightening the bulb. As he attempted to tighten the light bulb in its socket, the bulb fell from his hand. In the dimly-lit lounge, Tomaszewski, unable to see the socket, lit a match to illuminate the area, found the socket, extinguished the match, and replaced the bulb. Almost immediately, patrons saw something ignite in the canopy of artificial palm fronds draped above the tables (although the official report doubts the connection between the match and the subsequent fire)."

Tim, again another great historical tag. Even though I already knew about the event, I certainly learned something more. Despite having gone by the site hundreds of times, I'm going to swing by tomorrow and have a look with a much greater appreciation for what actually happened.

Moral of the story: Tag N Brag is a great game, for many reasons. All you white kids look alike when you're still covered in baby fat, so I was getting bored with the non-stop WASP parade.

Ah, Beacon Hill Skate shop, got my first (and only I suppose) skateboard there. I have to admit, my mother told me stories about the fire when I was a kid, but I didn't actually know where it was until we started playing this game (and I was trying to think of tags).

I'm still a little surprised I haven't been left in the dust in the points "competition." In time I imagine I will.
