    Dear Octo wizard,

You are correct, your bike is no better than a scooter. Please give it to me as it would be bad for you to be seen on it. I'll gladly take it off your hands.

Excuse the craptastic ugly/messy kitchen (not my mess).

This was the best way I could show off the fiber. It really reflects the light just slightly.

    I can't imagine a triple....

THe gears... they have holes to make it go faster.

    ....

I took a short 10 mile ride on it, and I'm still getting used to this whole "gears thing". I haven't found the "sweet spot" in the gearing... Maybe I'm just too used to 83 gear inches, and mashing, because I just feel a lot less efficient and slower on my bike right now until I figure it all out. It's certainly more built for the hills. Brakes are strange but became natural after a little bit of time.

Compact geometry is weird. The small of my back (where a tramp stamp would be) got sore. I'm sure it's just getting used to it.

I LOVE ROAD PEDALS. Oh man I do. It's like having bionic feet. Egg beaters suck in comparison. That platform actually does something.

The bike is LIGHT and stiffer than your first boner. I found myself yanking the front up more than a few times easier than I thought, and hopping this bike is dead stupid easy, although I don't really like doing that. I just wanted to see if I could.

Lemme get my sea legs on 'er and then I'm looking forward to ripping it up.But the fact of the matter is: Bones heal. Chicks dig scars. And the United States of America has the best doctor-to-daredevil ratio in the world!
  10.
by "getting used to this whole 'gears thing'", do you mean to say this is your first road bike?

How can I put it this way, I've been helping a wife of a CEO of a multinational company pick out bikes (Plural) for herself for the pan mass challenge or whatever it is (some charity or something) at ATA (Where else with someone with that much money shop? Plus it's really close to her house.)

She goes, "It was your birthday right?"

    Me: "Yeah."

her: "Pick out a road bike for yourself. A little early christmas present"

me: *jaw hits the floor* "Uh okay..." You don't have to ask me twice.

her: "You need to have him fitted for a bike after he comes back, thanks!"

The only thing that could have made it more awesome is if it was a BMC, but I think Look is a pretty fucking good bike company at least up there with them.

So yeah, it's a pretty good day.But the fact of the matter is: Bones heal. Chicks dig scars. And the United States of America has the best doctor-to-daredevil ratio in the world!

There are no breaks on this bike and the peddles don't have toshi double straps (but they do say DURA ACE like the cranks, which i think is a typo because its really for a gay porn DURA ASS).

The tires are all stuck on the wheelz or something (no doubt from too much jizz) so I think I need to change those out.But the fact of the matter is: Bones heal. Chicks dig scars. And the United States of America has the best doctor-to-daredevil ratio in the world!

conor:on the fuji: judging by the seatpost and stem, i'd say it's a little small for you. better luck next time.

Actually I didn't jam the seat post in at all, here it is all together, more properly adjusted:

Most modern track guys are running a raised stem.

    Thoughts:

51-13 sucks on the street, but I can see where it would be a lot more fun on the track. Acceleration is lol.

Riding this bike is harsh and it sounds like riding a tin can on the street. Both my Look and Van Dessel ride a lot better.

Skidding on tubulars is not a good idea.

Track drops suck for anything other than being in the base of the drops and are incredibly uncomfortable compared to a good set of road bars or even horns.

    Wheelies are easy on it.

I am running out of space in my apartment for bikes. But the fact of the matter is: Bones heal. Chicks dig scars. And the United States of America has the best doctor-to-daredevil ratio in the world!

your handlebar angle seems a bit off.

also, i have ergo road drops on my velodrome only bike way more comfortable; i can be in there for hours. (plus i genuinely like riding in the drops normally)

^about a year's delivery time though so i can save up for it. and 2000 bucks complete isn't really expensive at all these days. that dude ezra fastboy's down in nyc only been buildin' frames for a few months and he's gettin' 2000 just for the frames. antbikemike (as yall prolly know) was a founder of IF, so he's been buildin' for like ever. so i tell myself it's a bargain.

trek 520 touring bike- geared & loaded for the long haul. deore & deore lx drivetrain.
still needs some random things and adjustments to be complete, i may replace the bar tape with some brown tape, and switch the dt shifters for some bar end ones i have laying around. maybe i'll try some clipless pedals and switch the brakes out. what i'm saying is that the bike is done and isn't done at the same time. needs a few more bottle cages, fenders, and some other blah blah stuff. woot.
the panniers & handlebar bag were my father's.

mad props to: chuck_norris for the frame & most of the parts, alexi gigantic for well, being alexi, and Dan Roch for the saddle.gone
