    I did, years ago.

Really sorry to hear that dude. At least you're okay. Bikes can be remade. People...not so much.

I blew the fork out on my Santa Cruz a few years ago the day I built it up. Fell while riding wheelies in Rock Death's driveway and ripped the fork in half. Dora witnessed it, and laughed at me when it happened!

haha i'm sorry! it was just so comical! :DMust be awful, being so fluffy.

Its not that porny, but I'm happy with it. Took the Fuji Touring Series III frame I've had in my closet and built a workbike / tourer on it. The thing is huge, 63cm. I barely clear the standover, but its refreshing having a bit more relaxed of a riding position, plus I can actually see over traffic when I'm on it. Built up on a Dura Ace 8-Speed group and Open Pros laced to Ultegra hubs. Got some new bars coming, need to get new brakes, and need to get all the racks and stuffs for toruing. I worked on it today after I busted a wheel on my Olmo this morning and it felt great (once I got used to the higher center of gravity... I was all wobbly for the first 15 minutes and felt like a total noob).

if that's a work bike, be sure to keep the hubs greased.
nice lookin whip for sure though. tires add a nice taste of gritty utility to it.somebody turn the lights off on this place already.

New bike day redux. Fenders will go on later in the week. Alfine with Versa shifters. Eccentric BB. Don't love the color, maybe powdercoat down the road.

A few spokes shy of a wheel.

New bike day, I figured I needed full suspension in my life, so here it is.

I also made a time lapse video (well, two) of the build:
    Side view
    Super action benchcam view

I've taken it on one ride, and so far, so good. its fun to just plow over everything. It pedals up hill reasonably well (I don't feel like its an energy vampire) and it descends like whoa. I haven't figured out how to deal with the super slack headtube angle yet - I slid out a few times on my ride, and turning felt weird. I'll probably drop tire pressure and see how that changes things.

Anyhow, wooo new bike day!ascott430 - "Was going to build it up into a fixed gear until I realized I'd rather spend money and time on mountain bikes."

I wanted another bike here in Cambridge NY in order to encourage friends to come ride with me. I saw this sweet segmented fork 80's Panasonic at a yard sale. Indexed/friction switchable thumbies and the biggest barends I've ever seen. I think I'm going to put my SPDs on this beast and let my less-experienced friend ride my fatbike, and we can go shred trails.

It had a $12 price tag on it. So of course I offered her $10.
I figure I'll donate it to the theater here when this gig is over. The artistic director keeps a couple of bikes around for the visiting artists to ride and this will give them one more.

just ordered a salsa beargrease today. debating about what to build it up with (with fancy bits). throwing my new xt kit on there. building up salsa fat conversion hubs to turnagain f80 rims. probably gonna go for some newly released 45nrth vanhelga tires (maybe 60tpi..possibly 120tpi) and a pair of fat slicks (surly black larry or whatever)

raceface cranks? raceface or answer or straitline front end? 35 or 31.8mm clamps? thomson elite seatpost or something to match the front end? some colors or not?

I actually got this a week ago and have been too busy shredding to post. Ridden just over 100mi so far, through Blue Hills, Cutler, JP trails, and Rock Meadow/Western Greenway. Such a rad bike.

In 1905 the Swiss Military introduced the MO-05 model military bike. Unbelievably, this model remained in production, UNCHANGED, for 84 years. They were discontinued in 1989, but were in service until 1993, when the more modern MO-93 was introduced. Weighing in at 52lbs, the MO-05 is a TANK. These are becoming harder and harder to find. Yesterday, I managed to get one. It's a little banged-up. Needs a bit of hub work, but is otherwise solid. These were built to last...through a war. Here are a few photos.

I suppose I should also post this in the "right" thread. A random stop to visit Ella and Alexi a few months ago terminated in this today. More gears than I will ever use, two more brakes than I know what to do with, ...and a shit load of fun to ride!! I should prolly MS Paint the "mishap" of going in to Ace that one afternoon... anyway...the stable grows.
