Just saw this bike locked up outside T-Mobile on the corner of Mass Ave and Prospect. I'm assuming it has been recovered by the owner, no? Talked with a cop in the area who said, "thieves don't look up bikes." Whatever that means. Didn't seem that concerned.

throw a ulock around it anyway. it got stolen by one of the locals, so i wouldn't be surprised if they locked it, or if someone else bought it. and remember: missing rear fender. You're purposefully attempting to sabotage my degree project. Thanks.

That cop was so wrong, when I recovered my stolen bike, it was locked up right where it went missing from.

Shit, didn't know the Langster Seattle came with the fenders and cup-holder stock. Don't remember if it was missing a rear fender. I'm really not in a position to "throw a lock on it." Could belong to someone else or bike could have been recovered.

I saw the dude with the Schwinn coming into Cambridge, I gave him a look and he rode away.. myself, zack, and Alex caught him on Columbia St near Tosci's.. the jerk had warrants out already so the police locked him up and Chris should get his bike back tomorrow when he goes by the Cambridge PD station to claim it. Officers on the scene talked to chris on the phone (thanks to blackberry and Bfixed!) and they were really nice.

all and all it was a pretty good outcome.

I mean, next day shit, that's fucking unheard of in my book.

thanks Bostonfixed and cambridge bikes for pulling through today - I owe ya one.

This "Fixie Squad" did not consist of any fixed gears, but a road bike, a 3speed, and a bmx bike.

I just really hate the word 'fixie'.

I know there are probably a lot of Langsters around Somerville right now, but, I decided to risk a false positive and post about a possible stolen bike sighting.

I took a photo of this bike:

    photo

    It was located here:

1122 Broadway, Somerville, ma if the Link doesn't work.

It is owned by a very sweet man who runs a convenience store. He said that he bought it from a guy who lived around Teele Square, which is suspicious in of itself - who sells new langsters on the used market?

Ladytraveler, do you think this could be your friend's? Is there anything distinguishing that I can look for?

PS: I really like the lock he is using.
edit: PPS: Probably a false positive.

it ain't. too big. You're purposefully attempting to sabotage my degree project. Thanks.

ah you're right. I just looked at the original, and this bike has a cupholder as well as some extra manufacturer stickers.

Also, I think perhaps she said the bike to be on the lookout for was missing its front rear fender?

I saw a similar bike on Cambridge St @ Prospect last week... but it looked too big and had a front both fenders.

I've seen a silver Eddy Merckx road bike locked up at MassArt in the same place for over a week now. It's a really nice bike, with full ultegra and a great wheelset but it's weird to see such a nice bike kept in the same place out in the rain for so long. Does anybody know anything about it?http://www.fanfiction.net/s/800170/1/EVANGELION_NEXUS

Gents and Gentettes, Bought a crankset and stem off CL today and quickly realized this stuff was probably stolen. The guy was sketchtastic and didn't know a damn thing about bikes. I don't think he has any idea what he was selling because it was incredibly underpriced. Good deal for me but bad deal for whomever he stole them from. Just want to do my part and try to get these back to the person who they were stolen from. If you had a crankset and stem stolen, let me know what brand and color and I will be happy to get them back to you. Hopefully the right person sees this.

when did this turn into the "hey guess what bike you can steal!?" thread? i hate seeing when this thread is bumped. generally, b/c it means someone's devastated that they just lost their bike. lately, it's because people are pointing out the theft-able ones.

    Stolen Brown Surly Steamroller (Allston)

This bike has been around for years, it's brown with stickers has a DIY weld repair job in the triangle. It was stolen in Allston in front of O'brains.

If you see this bike, please email me any leads you have. I will pay out a reward for anything that leads to the recovery of this bike. Stealing a messenger's bike is fucked up and I ask to anyone that lives in Allston/Brigton to help us get it back.

    Thank you,
