anyone know of an app of some sort the will allow you to adjust the transparency of firefox?

for instance: this is my background -

and I'd like to open a browser window and be able to see something like this:

*please excuse my cluttered desktop and shitty photoshop job, I am kinda ashamed of both!

^If ya want, I can suggest a load of other software *many of which are free, some are cheap, and some you may want to *cough* get other ways *cough*clockwork ted: this is my favorite thread. sweet BJ alexi!

as a mac owner, i would like to know of this other software. You're purposefully attempting to sabotage my degree project. Thanks.

*1st, I'm not linking all these, so Google-Fu will be needed to find em.
*2nd, This is just a list of what I think is useful. Your milage may vary.

*Caffeine - Application/Menu Extra - Keeps the machine totally awake - useful if you need it not to goto sleep for whatever reason. I like it for class as I don't want my screen constantly dimming.
*Disk Inventory X - Shows you where all you disk space is being used - ie, blocks of mp3's, photo's, applications, and so on. Very useful if you tend to keep your disk pretty full.
*iFlash - Flash Card Application. Awesome if you need these to study, and take all your notes on the computer.
*Little Snitch - warns you of outgoing network connections incase you have applications that phone home or try to update. Good if your software is umm.... something you don't want phoning home.
*Lostify - Good if you add media (movies/tv shows) to itunes, and want it to show as a Movie/TV Show in front row. Edits metadata that itunes can't.
*Mac the Ripper - Rip DVD's to your Mac
    *Handbrake - Same
*iSquint - Same but for iPod
*Mac Tracker - Stats on all apple products ever made. Useful if you need this geeky kinda stuff for some reason or another.
*XLD - Convert lossless formats that itunes doesn't support to some that it does
*WriteRoom - basic word processor app for those of us with ADD
*VLC - Best video player for mac
*Transmission - Best Torrent Client imho
*Saft - Safari plugin - adds some ad blocking to Safari, as well as restoring browser sessions
*Inquisitor - Safari plugin - adds better searching
*AdBlock - Safari plugin - ad blocking
*Safari Block - Safari plugin - ad blocking
****I hate ads**** Side note to those though are that you sometimes have to turn them off for sites to work properly.
*Onyx - Awesome system utility/tweaking tool
*APGrapher - good wifi application for seeing what's going on wifi wise - ie what networks are there, visible/invisible/channel/etc
*1Password - good password management tool - assuming you like such things - works with all major browsers for mac
    *Pacifist - package inspector/installation utility.
*MenuMeters - Pref. pane and menu extra - useful for computer stats
*Afloat - adds transparency options to most applications.
*DoubleCommand - does some useful key re-scripting for those who dislike terminal jockeying
    *Perian - Quicktime codecs

*KCNScrew - vast collection of serial #'s for sw
    *iSerial Reader - Same

Thats all I can think of currently. I'm sure there are more though.clockwork ted: this is my favorite thread. sweet BJ alexi!

i tried handbrake a while ago, and i was not impressed. maybe i didn't use it right?

also: safari quits on me when i try to open it. pages won't even load, buttons aren't activated. help? You're purposefully attempting to sabotage my degree project. Thanks.
  6.
^Yeah, I prefer Mac the Ripper over handbrake.

delete your safari preferences manually for a start. If ya need help with that *as not everyone knows how to do this kinda thing* hit me up on AIM. It's in my user profile.clockwork ted: this is my favorite thread. sweet BJ alexi!

other free wordprocessing programs you can get....
*ABIword-exactly the same as word just a knock off and you can save files into word format
*NexusWriter-its a thirty day trial but its really 30 days of complete use so if you us it for five minutes you still have 29 days 23 hours and 55 minutes left with it.ride bikes for money not for fun(unless your drunk)

Quicksilver is ok, but I've found spotlight helps enough, along with iKey - which lets me script my own key commands to launch apps, or do complex actions.

ikey needs an update bad though. It's a little flakey in 10.5clockwork ted: this is my favorite thread. sweet BJ alexi!
